Miss Jo Ann Thompson of Tulsa and Dr. Frank Wamsley, Ryan, were married June 3 in the First Baptist Church in Tulsa. The Rev. Clifton McKay, former pastor of the Ryan Methodist Church now living in Pawinhuska, officiated at the
ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Thompson of Tulsa and the bridegroom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Wamsley, also of Tulsa.
The couple is on a wedding trip to Mexico and on their return will establish a home in Lawton where the bridegroom will practice dentistry. |

A private funeral service was held for Dr. Frank Wamsley.
Entombment was in the Chapel of Peace Mausoleum at Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.
Dr. Frank Wamsley, age 90, of Lawton, passed away Sunday, July 28, 2019 in Lawton. Frank and his twin, Jack, were born June 24, 1929 in Cambridge, Massachusetts to John and Mary Wamsley. The family moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1935. He graduated from Tulsa Central High School in 1947 and Duke University in 1951. He then spent two years in the Army. After his discharge he enrolled in St. Louis University School of Dentistry. Upon graduation he opened his dental practice in Ryan, Oklahoma.
On June 3, 1962 he married Jo Ann Thompson of Tulsa. He then moved his practice to Lawton at the Lawton Clinic. Four years late he opened a practice at 16th & Gore where he remained until he retired in 1996.
His son, Eric was born in 1964 and son, Paul in 1965. He was devoted to his wife, his sons, his patients and his Lord. He was a member of First Baptist Church.
He was an excellent athlete. When in high school he played football and at Duke was on the Swimming team. He especially loved tennis. He served as treasurer of the Lawton Tennis Association for many years. He was on the city CPA Watchdog Committee for several years. He was a volunteer at the city's free dental clinic and traveled on some dental missionary trips to Central America. At Tulsa Central High he was president of his senior class.
He will be greatly missed by his wife, Jo Ann, his son, Eric of Houston, Texas, son, Paul and his wife, Michelle of Tulsa. He had three grandchildren, Rachel, Eric Joseph and Drake. He also leaves four nieces, Georgia Rose and her husband, Randy, Nancy Steen and her husband, Brad, Barbara Blount and her husband, Mark and Sherry Romano and her husband, Rex and one nephew, David Wamsley.
He was predeceased by his twin, Jack and his older brother, Walter.
