Stieffel of Waveland, Miss.; brother of Corporal Robert D. Stieffel, U.S.M.C. in Viet Nam, Emile L., Kenneth J. Stieffel, Mrs. Thomas Silbernedol (sic), Mrs. Edward Bourgeois, Mrs. Steve Bateman, Mrs. Maurice Olivier, Misses Ida and Agatha Stieffel, all of New Orleans, La. and Myra and Thomas Stieffel of Waveland, Miss. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Age 22 years.
Relatives and friends of the family, are invited to attend the funeral.
Services from the Knights of Columbus Home, Vacherie, La., on Saturday, May 17, 1969, at 10:40 o'clock a. m.
Religious services at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church at 11 o'clock a. m.
Interment in Church cemetery.

Marine Accidentally Shot at Quantico, Va.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Peace Church in Vacherie for Marine Lance Cpl. James Johnston Stieffel III, 22, a native of Bay St. Louis. He was accidentally shot to death Tuesday at Quantico, Va., by a fellow serviceman.
A military policeman at Quantico, Cpl. Stieffel was a graduate of Bay St. Louis High School.
He worked in the electrical department of Avondale Shipyards Inc. before joining the Marine Corps in June, 1967.
After basic training at Camp Lejeune, N.C., and at Parris Island, S.C., he was sent to the Third Marine Division in Vietnam.
Cpl. Stieffel was wounded by shrapnel in Vietnam in January, 1968, while he was rescuing two fellow soldiers. He returned to this country last December and went to Quantico.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Sandra Delatte Stieffel, his parents, Mr.. and Mrs. Alton Stieffel of Waveland, Miss.; seven sisters, Mrs. Thomas Silbernagel, Mrs. Steven Bateman, Mrs. Edward A. Bourgeois, Mrs. Maurice Olivier, Miss Ida Stieffel, and Miss Agatha Stieffel of New Orleans and Miss Myra Stieffel of Waveland, and four brothers, Emile L. Stieffel and Kenneth J. Stieffel of New Orleans, Marine Col. Robert D. Stieffel, now in Vietnam, and Thomas F. Stieffel of Waveland.
Interment will be in the cemetery of Our Lady of Peace Church in Vacherie.
