Lafontaine, 90, Taken by Death
August Lafontaine Sr., 90, former French Market butcher, died at Hotel Dieu [hospital] Sunday after a brief illness.
Funeral services will be held from the Pat J. McMahon-Coburn Company, 2305 Canal, at 2 p. m. Monday, followed by religious rites at St. Raphael's church. Interment will be in St. Louis cemetery No. 3.
He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Florence Werle, Mrs. Marie Tobler, Mrs. Hazel Hartdegen and Mrs. Thelma Hartdegen: four sons, Joseph, Norman, Raymond and August Lafontaine Jr., and 16 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

LA FONTAINE -- On Sunday morning, January 3, 1960, at 11:15 o'clock, AUGUST LA FONTAINE, SR., in his 90th year, husband by first marriage of the late Augustine Frank, and by second marriage of the late Antoinette Jennings, mother of Joseph, Normand, August Jr. and Raymond La Fontaine, Mrs. Florence Werle, Mrs. Marie Tobler, Mrs. Hazel Hartdegen and Mrs. Thelma Hartdeger and the late Mrs. Mae Danan, also survived by 16 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends of the family, employes of T. Smith and Son, Orleans Levee Board, officers and members of General Longshore Workers Union Local No. 1418 are invited to attend the funeral which will take place from the funeral home of Pat J. McMahon-Coburn Company, 2305 Canal, corner North Miro, on Monday afternoon, January 4, 1960, at 2 o'clock. Religious services at St. raphael's church.
Interment in St. Louis cemetery No. 3 under the direction of Albert E. Briede and Sons Inc.
