Birth: Jan. 26, 1884, USA
Death: Dec., 1938 Paris, Edgar County, Illinois, USA

Miss Sara Lydia Jones, aged 54 years of Marshall, was killed instantly in an automobile accident, about 7:30 o'clock, Sunday night at the intersection of State Route 16 and the Dudley-Grandview road, west of Paris.

Miss Jones is a cousin of Grace Jones of this city and until her death they had been making their home together here.

Two others were injured in the accident, William T. Jones, brother of Miss Jones and Russell Graham of Paris. They are recovering at the Paris hospital from their injuries.

Mr. Jones and his sister had left the home of Dr. W. S. Jones, Edgar county coroner at Redmon, only a short time before the accident. They were on their way to the W. T. Jones home located three and one-half miles northeast of Martinsville after taking Mr. Jones daughter, Opal, to Dr. Jones' home.

Mr. Graham, manager of a tavern at the intersection of state routes 133 and 49 was driving east on route 16. His car struck the Jones automobile broadside when Mr. Jones, going south, pulled out of the Dudley road to cross the pavement. Miss Jones, who was sitting on the right hand side of her brother's car, suffered the full force of the collision. She was killed instantly.

Mr. Jones suffered deep cuts on his face from flying glass and bruises and cuts abouts his body and extreme shock. He was released from the hospital yesterday after making fair progress toward recovery. Mr. Graham is still confined to the hospital. He is suffering from a chest injury, a deep on the forehead and possible internal injuries. He is expected to make satisfactory improvement unless pneumonia develops.

The Jones car was completely demolished by the impact of the crash and the front of Mr. Graham's car was badly damaged.

Miss Jones had accompanied her brother and niece to Redmon for the trip and was returning to her brother's home to spend the night.

No one was held responsible for the fatality at the inquest conducted at 10 o'clock Monday morning at the Blume Funeral Home by Dr. Jones, coroner.

Miss Jones was born January 26th, 1884. She is survived by her two brothers, William T. Jones of near Martinsville and Frank Jones of Fort Wayne, Ind.

Funeral services will be conducted at two o'clock this afternoon at the Blue Grass church, north of Martinsville. Interment will be in the Blue Grass cemetery.
