DESPONDENT FROM ILLNESS.
John D. Silbernagle, a German mechanix, fifty-four years old, living on the fourth floor of the tenement-house No. 411 East Sixty-third-st., committed suicide early yesterday morning by shooting himself in the right temple with a revolver. For a long time Silbernagle had been suffering from a chronic disease which had been pronounced incurable by several physicians. He was thus incapacitated for work, and became melancholy. Yesterday morning he arose about 5 o'clock, and, going into a rear room, fired the fatal shot.
