Dixon - Hayes
A very quiet, yet interesting wedding was solemnized at the First Presbyterian church Thursday morning of last week at 10 o'clock.
The contracting parties were Miss Victoria Louise Dixon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry H. Dixon and Mr. Clayton B. Hayes, son of Mr. Harry R. Hayes of Homestead. The officiating ministers were Rev. W. E. Fisher, pastor of the Methodist Episcopal church of Aurora, and Rev. Forest C. Taylor, pastor of the First Presbyterian church, this city, using the double ring ceremony. Mrs. F. C. Taylor played the Lohengrin wedding march as the bridal party came slowly down the aisle, the pipe organ music continuing throughout the entire service.
The attendants were Miss Nina Hayes and Mr. Orville Hayes, sister and brother of the groom. The bride was becomingly gowned in a white ensemble with corsage bouquet of Sweetheart roses. The brides-maid was charming in her gown of orchid taffeta with picture hat to match. The groom and best man
were attired in informal suits of dark blue.
There were present only the immediate families of the bridal couple and Mr. Ray Swanson, a close friend of the groom. The church was decorated with golden rod, purple autumn flowers and gorgeous dahlias, forming a beautiful setting for the service. Immediately following the ceremony Mr. and Mrs. Hayes motored to Cincinnati, O. and on through Kentucky and Tennessee on a short honeymoon trip. On returning they will be at home to their many friends at 202 W. High street.
Mr. Hayes has just recently been appointed Parcel Post delivery clerk at the Lawrenceburg post office by the Postoffice Department. He is also proprietor of the Electric Shop on East High Street.
