Hoover Sr., Cary Lansing

A retired operator with BASF and a resident of Greenwell Springs, he died at 4:44 p.m. Thursday, April 17, 2008, at his home. He was 86, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a native of Independence. Visiting at Baker Funeral Home on Sunday, April 20, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Visiting resumes at the funeral home chapel on Monday from 8 a.m. until religious service at 10 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Mike Ferguson. Interment in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.

He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Mickie Hoover , of Zachary, and Cary Jr. and Debbie Hoover , of Greenwell Springs; and a sister, Georgia McMorris and husband Darvin, of Baton Rouge.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Bankston Hoover ; sister, Audis Mae Albin; six brothers, Hilliard, Woodrow, Herbert, Amos Lee, Winson and Carlton Hoover ; and parents, Thomas and Willie Dee Hoover .

His nephews will serve as pallbearers. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of Baker Masonic Lodge 441. He enjoyed fishing and was known for repairing Gravely tractors.
