SELLERS

Nora Annette Hixson, the daughter of Amos and Adeline Daugherty Hixson, was born Aug. 28, 1902 and departed this life on Dec. 3, 1983 at the home of her daughter, Wretha Paige, at the age of 81 years, three months and five days.

She lived her entire life in and around Lucas County. On Dec 24, 1920 she was united in marriage to Walter Dewey Sellers at Russell, Iowa. To this union one son and four daughters were born, Wilma and husband Frank Johnson of Creston, Harold and wife Dorothy Sellers of Chariton, Fern and husband Dale Cottrell of Melrose, Marilyn and husband Jack James of Chariton, and Wretha and husband Don Paige of Chariton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two brothers, Chester and Glenn.

She accepted Christ into her life at an early age and lived accordingly thereafter.

She was an active member of the Friendly Circle Club which she looked forward to regularly.

Surviving are five children; four sons-in-law; one daughter-in-law; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; several neices and nephews; other relatives, along with a host of friends.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6, 1983 at the Mosher Funeral Home. Burial was in the Russell Cemetery. Pallbearers were Dwaine Sellers, Kevin James, Dan Johnson, Richard Paige, Randy Paige, Russ Paige, Larry Chase and Mark Addison.

You were our perfect Mother
For many, many years.
Now time has come to bid farewell
With great sorrow and our tears.
Now, we must carry on alone,
While you go to meet our Dad.
We send with you our love
For the dearest Mother to be had.
Although our sunshine is now clouded
Our memories we'll hold dear.
You had been on loan to us
All these many years.
We weren't ready to see you go,
But we're sure that you know best.
Your earthly worries over
You've earned your peace and rest.
Our Mother told us she was tired
And the end was drawing near.
With heavy hearts and teary eyes,
Loving memories we'll always hold dear.
