Doris Helm Cain, a retired clerk with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, died Wednesday at Malta Park. She was 86. Mrs. Cain was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. She was a graduate of John McDonogh High School. She was a member of the Louisiana Federation of Garden Clubs, serving as a life judge; was a founding member of Les Belles Fleurs Club; and was awarded three Keys to the City of New Orleans for her Arbor Day activities. Survivors include a son, Frederick H. Cain of Troy, Ala.; a sister, Jeannine Stieffel ; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. A graveside service will be held today at All Saints Mausoleum, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
