Keith Edward Hayes, a white male, was born Aug 31, 1950 in Ft. Dodge, Iowa, and died at the West edge of a railroad bridge in Woolstock, Hamilton, Iowa at the age of 12 years. He was a student attending school, and resided in Woolstock, Wright county, Iowa. His father was Edward E. Hayes, his mother Zella Williams. His mother was the informant. Cause of death was gunshot wound to the chest from a 22 rifle. It was an accident, He was ahead of a friend who was trying to catch up, stumbled and rifle discharged accidentally. Burial to take place 11/26/1962 in Graceland Cemetery, Webster City, Iowa.

Former Local Boy Dies in Woolstock Hunting Accident
.Keith Hayes, 12~year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hayes of Woolstock, formerly of Webster City, was killed late Friday afternoon in a hunting accident near Woolstock.
The boy was struck in the chest by a bullet from a .22 calibre rifle carried by a hunting companion, Martin Yoder, 12, also of Woolstock.
Crossing Trestle
According to Dr. DeWayne Anderson, Hamilton county medical examiner, the boys were crossing a railroad trestle on the Chicago and North Western railroad at the edge of Woolstock. when the Yoder boy stumbled on a railroad track bolt and his rifle discharged.
The Hayes boy was dead on arrival at the Hamilton county hospital at.about 5 p.m., Dr. Anderson said.
Keith Hayes formerly attended Sunset Heights school in Webster City and was a former member of Cub Scout Pack 84 in this city.
Funeral services for Keith Edward Hayes, 12, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday .at the Foster funeral home with the Rev. A. E. Rau officiating and with burial in Graceland cemetery.

Keith Edward Hayes, son of Edward and.Zella Hayes, was born Aug. 31, 1960. at Fort Dodge Mercy hospital.
He started his elementary education in the Webster City schools, later moving withhis parents in 1981 to as farm south west of Woolstock. He attended the Woolslock schools for one.year and he had been attending lhe Eagle Grove Community schools where he was a junior.high student and was an honor
student.
Surviving are his parents; one brother, Merlyn Eugene, by one sister, Jackie Louise; his step-grandfathcr, Charles Whitesell of Fort Dodge; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Keith ilayes was baptized in the United Brethren faith.
