Family troubles caused an ugly shooting affray early yesterday at the Jefferson Saw Mill, at the head of Robert Street. Enraged at some ugly rumor he heard concerning himself, Adam Haab, aged 27 years, residing at Robert and Valence Streets, entered the mill where his aged father was employed as watchman, and in a quarrel the young man shot his father in the calf of the right leg. No one heard the shooting. Young Haab made his escape. The wounded man was discovered by James P. Boling, the foreman, who notified the police. The watchman refused to make a statement other than that the shooting was brought about by family troubles.
