Michael Patrick Gordy Sr., owner and operator of Dixie Caterers Inc., died Sunday of a heart attack at his home. He
was 55. Mr. Gordy was born in New Orleans and lived in Westwego for the past 28 years. He attended Redeemer
High School. He was a member of the Irish Channel St. Patrick's Day Committee and the Hayne Boulevard Camp Owners Association. Survivors include his wife, Nola Marks Gordy; a son, Michael P. Gordy Jr.; two daughters, Michele Gordy Cavalier and Jennifer Gordy LaCava; his mother, Rita McDonald Gordy; two brothers, Robert J. and Ronald M.
Gordy; two sisters, Donna and Kathy Gordy; and three grand-children. A Mass will be said Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Assumption Church, 2030 Constance St. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
