The marriage this evening of Miss Virginia Elizabeth Halleck, daughter of Mrs. Maurice E. Norton of Washington, D. C., and Mr. Norton, to Mr. George Edmund Crane, Jr., will take place in New Orleans this morning at 9 o'clock in the Church of the Holy Name of Jesus. It will be a quiet event and there will be no reception following. The attendant on the bride will be Miss Elizabeth Thayler Crane, sister of Mr. Crane, and Mr. Gerard Francis McGinn will be best man to the bridegroom. The ceremony will be performed by the Rev. Father Harry L. Crane, S. J., uncle of the bridegroom-elect.

Among events here Saturday morning was the marriage of Miss Virginia Elizabeth Halleck, daughter of Mrs. Maurice E. Norton of Washington, D. C., to Mr. George Edmund Crane, Jr., now of Washington, D. C., formerly of New Orleans, son of Mr. and Mrs. Crane of this city. The ceremony took place at 9 o'clock at the Church of the Holy Name of Jesus on St. Charles avenue, with the Rev. Harry L. Crane, S. J., uncle of the bridegroom, officiating in the presence of an interesting gathering of relatives and friends.
The bride, given in marriage by Mr. Crane, father of the bridegroom, wore a light blue wool suit, a black hat and black accessories and her corsage bouquet was of pale pink camellias. Her only attendant was the bridegroom's sister, Miss Elizabeth Thayer Crane, who wore a pale yellow wool suit, a hat of brown felt and brown accessories. Her corsage was of bronze and yellow chrysanthemums.
There was no reception following the ceremony. Mr. Crane and his bride leaving immediately after on a short trip. They will return to New Orleans for a few days visit to Mr. Crane's parents before going to Washington to reside.

Mr. and Mrs. George Edmund Crane, Jr., left Monday for Washington, D. C., where they will make their home, residing at No. 3300 E street, Southeast. The marriage of Mr. and Mrs. Crane was celebrated here recently. Mrs. Crane is the former Miss Virginia Elizabeth Halleck, daughter of Mrs. Maurice E. Norton of Washington and Mr. Crane is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Crane of New Orleans.

SHREVEPORT, LA - A rosary will be said for George Edmund Crane, 74, on Tuesday, November 14 at 7 p.m. followed by a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at Osborn Funeral Home. A
Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 15 at 2 p.m. at Saint Catherine's Catholic Church. Officiating will be Father Bill Spencer. Burial will follow at Forest Park Cemetery.
George. a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend departed this life on November 13, 1995. He was born on May 14, 1921 in New Orleans. He later moved to Washington, D.C. in 1942 working at the FBI, until he served his country during World War II. Returning home, he and his wife Belle moved to New Orleans where he started his forty-three year career in the outdoor advertising business. He served as president of B&B Outdoor Advertising in Shreveport from 1967 to 1987.
After his retirement he remained active in the Shreveport Community through his work with the YMCA, Red Cross, Men of Manresa, Shreveport Police Department, and St. Catherine's Church and community center.
Mr. Crane was predeceased by his parents, Gretchen and George Crane, his infant son, Christopher in 1952, and his brother, Robert Crane.
He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of fifty-three years, Bette, and their six children, Richard, Scott and his wife Lisa, all of Nashville, Sandi Bergeret and her husband Rene', Jeff and his wife Patsy, Patti Roberts and her husband Jeff, Keith and his wife Susan all of Shreveport. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, Matthew Crane, Trey, Chris, and Michelle Bergerel, Jeffrey and Jason Crane, Nicole Brice, Michael, Amy, and Patrick Roberts. and Daniel, Andrew, and Jordan Crane.
George is also survived by his sisters, Gretchen Werner of Baton Rouge, Betty Diemel of New Orleans, Dorothy Lindsley of Memphis and his brother Ray Crane of Tulsa.
Serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be the Men ol Manresa.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to all the dedicated doctors and nurses in MICU at Schumpert Medical Center for their loving care.
The family requests memorials be made to the George Crane Memorial Fund in care of St. Catherine's Church, 331 East 71st Street, Shreveport, LA 71106.
