Stayton - Clark.
Miss Lucy Stayton, age 32, was married to Sidney Burt Clark, age 34, at the Baptist church in Mayfield, Sunday, June 4, 1916, at high noon. Miss Stayton is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Stayton, who live one mile west of Mayfield, and is well known by many Wellington people. Mr. Clark is a farmer, who lives near Sharon. The ceremony was conducted by the Reverend Kirk, of Conway
Springs, assisted by Reverend Sullivan, of Mayfield. After the wedding the personal friends and immediate relatives of the bride and groom were given a big dinner at the Stayton home. The young couple met at a Baptist Association at Mayfield about three years ago and the friendship which resulted culminated in yesterday's wedding.

Stayton - Clark
A very pretty home wedding took place at the Baptist church in Mayfield on Sunday, June 4th, when Lucy Stayton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Stayton, of that place, became the bride of Mr. Sidney Burt Clark. The ceremony was performed by Rev. A. B. Kirk. pastor of Baptist church of Conway Springs, assisted by Rev. Mr. Sullivan of Mayfield. After the ceremony at the church a wedding dinner was served to the bridal party, relatives and intimate friends, at the Stayton home, one mile west of Mayfield. The groom is a prosperous young farmer of Sharon, Barber county and the bride is a highly esteemed and very attractive young lady. The wedding is said to be the culmination of an acquainance formed when both parties met for the first time at a Baptist association meeting at Mayfield some three years ago.

Obituary - S. B. Clark
S. B. Clark was born November 29, 1880, near Lawrence, Kansas, and passed away to the Great Beyond, December 5, 1932, near Mayfield, Kansas. Aged, 52 years and 6 days.
He came to Barber county with his parents in 1884 and grew to manhood near Hazelton, Kansas.
Bert Clark was united in marriage June 4, 1916, to Lucy Stayton, at Mayfield. To this union was born
two sons and three daughters, one of whom preceded him in death.
They lived near Sharon, Kansas, until 10 years ago when they moved to near Mayfield, where he has lived
every since.
Bert Clark was a devoted and loving husband and father, a kind and affectionate son and brother, a devout Christian man and a good neighbor, always willing and ready to help others in time of need, and to know him was to be his friend. He was an energetic, ambitious and upright man and was honest in all his dealings.
He united with the Baptist church at Sharon about 22 years ago and after he moved to Mayfield be transferred his membership to the church there, of which he remained a faithful member until his death.
Bert Clark was the oldest of six children and was the first to be taken. His father, Reese Clark, preceded him in death two years ago.
Mr. Clark is survived by his devoted wife, Mrs. Lucy Clark; two sons, Reese George, and Henry; two
daughters, Lizzie Della and Kate Emma, at home; his mother, Mrs. Della Clark, of near Hazelton; one sister, Mrs. Alice Grace Meeks, of Batavia, Illinois; four brothers, Harry A. Clark of Hazelton, Floyd Clark of Hardtner, and George L. and Walter Reese Clark, of Hazelton, besides a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Friday, December 9, at 2 p. m., at the Baptist church at Mayfield. Rev. Collett
Johnson, of Milan, formerly of Kiowa, said the prayers and read a passage from the Bible, and Rev. Kirk, of
Wichita, who had known the deceased for about 20 years, conducted the services and paid a high tribute to him, and delivered a fine eulogy.
The floral offerings were beautiful and profuse and showed the high esteem in which he was held.
The funeral was largely attended, and besides his mother and brothers from Hazelton and Hardtner, were his sister, Mrs. Grace Masks, and daughter, Gilma Meeks, of Batavia, Illinois, and friends, Mrs. S. C. Haberlein, Miss Anna S. Haberlein, of Kiowa, Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Brown and Elvin
