Ophelia "Phyl" Richardson Fray, 87, went to her heavenly home on October 16, 2025. She was a resident of Zachary and born in Springfield, LA. No services will be scheduled at this time. Phyl is survived by her daughters, Sharon Jenkins DeLoach (David) of St. Francisville and Suzanne (Dave) of Reno, NV, daughter in law, Linda Jenkins of Covington, sister, Bea Simon of Springfield, La. and brother, Douglas Richardson of Springfield, grandchildren, Zeland Matthew DeLoach (Ashley), Trenton DeLoach, Elissa DeLoach, Lacey Jenkins Mondor (Micah), Kyle Jenkins (Esther), Mason and Ryan and Great Grandchildren Rowyn and Noah DeLoach Jethro, Jairus, Jesse and Jack Mondor and Juniper Joo Jenkins. She is preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Mary Richardson, sisters, Irene Kennedy, Betty Bauerle and Lorraine Lard, son, Douglas Roy Jenkins and husbands, Aubrey Jenkins, Salvador Serio and Ronald Fray.
Phyl was born in a log cabin. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from high school. In earlier years, Phyl operated a retail store in the French Quarter. Some of her many jobs were secretary, bookkeeper, real estate broker and agent. She owned 2 Bed and Breakfast and loved to travel. She had a green thumb for gardening, especially roses. Phyl loved cooking especially with her late husband Ronnie. She had an extensive book collection including both political and cookbooks. Most of all, Phyl loved spending time with her family who will continue her legacy of love.
