Death of Mrs. Sallie Hayes
Mrs. Sallie Hayes died at 2 o'clock yesterday morning at Elizabethtown Hamilton County. She was a relative of ex President Hayes and at the time of her demise was ninety five years old. She came from Virginia at an early age and settled in this county when the Indians made the habitations of the whites unsafe. She was a devoted member of the Methodist Episcopal Church and attended the good old fashioned camp meetings many years ago. She was generally known as 'Aunt Sallie,' and died of old age.
