ANZALONA, MRS. VIRGINIA RICHARDSON
Died at 9:15 a.m. Thursday at her residence in Independence. She was 64, and a native of Springfield. She was the wife of the late I. F. Anzalona. Body at the Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home with visiting from 8 to 10 a.m. Friday. Religious services at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church in Independence. Interment in the Colonial Cemetery.
Survivors are two sons, Dr. Fanancy Anzalona of Independence and Philip I. Anzalona of Hammond; six sisters, Mrs. Jessie McKidney and Mrs. Velma Kennedy, both of Springfield, Mrs. Edith Bankston, Holden, Mrs. Roland Treece, Denham Springs, Mrs. Laura Mae Downing, Baton Rouge, and Miss Esther Richardson, Independence; two brothers, Murphy Richardson, Baton Rouge and Phillip Richardson, Springfield; and nine grandchildren.
She was the supervisor of the primary grades of the Tangipahoa Parish and Schools and superintendent of the Parish School Library. She was a lifetime member of the National Education Association, and Kappa Iota and Delta Kappa Gamma, teachers fraternities. She was the originator of EKNE organization in the parish for elementary and kindergarten pupils, a member of the Independence Garden Club and the Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church.
