Walter F. Parks , a retired firefighter with the New Orleans Fire Department, died Tuesday of pulmonary fibrosis at East Jefferson General Hospital. He was 75. Mr. Parks was born in New Orleans and lived in Metairie for the past 27 years. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Betty Jane Chappetta Parks , and a brother, James L. Parks . A funeral will be held today at 11 a.m. at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
