He is employed as a foreman on the river docks, and is not a veteran. He was first married at age 21 to then 20 year old Ondine Blanchard. Ondine is now 26 years old. Their 4 children are: 5 year 6 months old son Leroy M. Blanchard; 3 year 6 months old son Fredie A. Blanchard; 2 year 2 months old Doris C Blanchard; and 5 year 8 months old Laurence [variation of Lawrence] C. Blanchard Jr. All family members were born in Louisiana, as were their parents.

Mrs. Ondine LaGrange Meloncon of Marrero, Louisiana on Wednesday, March 10, 1982 at 7 o'clock a.m. Beloved wife of the late Lawrence Blanchard by first marriage and of the late Manole Meloncon by second marriage, mother of Doris Rodrigue, Freddie and Lawrence Blanchard and the late Leroy Blanchard, sister of Mrs. Eloise Guidry, Clarence, Milton, Ignace and Whitmel LaGrange and the late Charles and Edward LaGrange, also survived by 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, stepmother of Mrs. Beverly Monteleone and Mrs. Yvonne Birdsall. Age 78 years. A native of Labedleville, Louisiana and a resident of Marrero, Louisiana for the past 31 years.
Relatives and friends of the family, also employees of Jefferson Parish School Board Transportation Department are invited to attend Mass of Christian Burial in the chapel of Mothe Funeral Homes Inc., 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, Louisiana on Thursday, March 11, 1982 at 3 o'clock p.m. A Parishoner of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Interment Westlawn Memorial Park.
