Gustave William Kraus,retired owner of Kraus Insurance Co., died Tuesday at Southern Baptist Hospital. He was 85. Mr. Kraus was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. He was a past commander of American Legion Post No. 203 and treasurer of the American Legion Convention Corp., and a member of the Propeller Club, the Vestry of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and the American Legion Baseball Commission. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Robinson Kraus; a daughter, Carol Walker; and a grandchild. A funeral service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 3827 Canal St. Burial will be in Hope Mausoleum. Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
