KOENIG BURIAL RITES TODAY
Former Chef Succumbs at Age of 63
Funeral services for Carl William Koenig, 323 Aris, Metairie, will be conducted Thursday at 9:30 a. m. from the Pat J. McMahon-Coburn Co. funeral home, 2305 Canal. Religious rites will be held in St. Francis Xavier church and burial will be in Greenwood cemetery.
Mr. Koenig, 63, died at the residence Tuesday at 11:45 p. m. following several years' illness. He was chef at Kolb's restaurant at the time of his retirement 11 years ago.
Known as "Little Charlie" to diners and fellow employes, Mr. Koenig has been associated with the restaurant for 37 years. He had come to the United States from Germany with his parents at an early age.
Mr. Kornig's survivors include his widow, the former Miss Dorothy Hayes; two daughters, Mrs. Merlin J. Lehmann and Mrs. James M. Deason; a son, Ludwig C. Koenig; three sisters, Mrs. Louis Baumgartner, Mrs. John Fahey Sr. and Mrs. Dan Mendel; two brothers, Henry and William Koenig, and eight grandchildren.

KOENIG -- On Tuesday evening, December 29, 1959, at 11:45 o'clock, CARL WILLIAM KOENIG, husband of Dorothy M. Hayes, father of Mrs. Merlin J. Lehmann, Mrs. James M. Deason and Ludwig C. Koenig, son of Anna Schott and the late Ludwig C. Koenig, brother of Mrs. Louis Baumgarter, Mrs. John Fahey, Mrs. Daniel Mendel, William and Henry Koenig and the late Mrs. F. Stoltz, and Louis Koenig, and survived by eight grandchildren.
Relatives and friends of the family, also employes of Kolb's Restaurant, officers and member of W. O. W. Camp No. 51 and J 51 of Louisiana, are invited to attend the funeral, which will take place from the funeral home of Pat J. McMahon-Coburn Company, 2305 Canal street, corner North Miro, on Thursday morning, December 31, 1959, at 9 o'clock, followed by Mass at St. Francis Xavier church.
Interment in Greenwood cemetery.
