With his wife he spent several years living at Moretown, Ohio, until early in the year 1867 they came to Wisconsin, and on the 12th day of March that year, settled on the farm which has ever since been their home, and on which is now located much of the village of La Farge. Two children have blessed their union, Franklin P. who died in infancy, and Joseph A. who survives him: His devoted wife died Feb. 9th of this present year which event has caused a cloud to darken his life and now, he too has gone leaving many relatives and friends to mourn his loss. Being one of the early settlers here he was well known as a man of strong character, and many good qualities; industrious, upright and honest he he was held in great esteem by all who knew him. The Rev. E. O. Chappel of the Congregational church, of Viola conducted the funeral services at the M. E. Green, Norval Evans, Joseph Cathers, D. H. Beau and A. W. De Jean.
