Obituary
Rosanna Kikuchi Stieffel passed away on July 15, 2012 after battling breast cancer since 2006. Rosanna, a most beloved wife, mother and friend is survived by her husband David J. Stieffel, her sons Justin, Richard and Joseph, her daughter Genelle Stieffel Portier and three grandchildren, Caiden, Macie and Madelyn.
Rosanna was the daughter of Kay and Theresa Kikuchi, sister of Debbie Kikuchi Banquer, Romona Kikuchi Arceneaux and Brenda Kikuchi.

Rosanna attended St. Francis Assisi and was a graduate of Mercy Academy. She was a dedicated employee of BellSouth for 12 years and an employee of Crescent Towing since January 21, 1993.

Visitation will be held at Holy Name of Mary Church, corner Verret and Alix Streets in Algiers Point on Thursday July 19, 2012 from 10 AM to 1 PM. A Funeral Mass will follow. Interment Westlawn Memorial Park, 1225 Whitney Avenue in Gretna.

The family is asking that all donations be made to the West Bank Scholarship Foundation in the name of Rosanna Kikuchi Stieffel through the Archbishop Shaw Alumni Association and the Greater New Orleans Foundation. Kay J. Kikuchi, a retired engineer with the New Orleans Sewerage & Water Board, died Saturday at home of cancer. He was 70. Mr. Kikuchi was born in Sacramento, Calif., and lived in New Orleans for the past 60 years. He owned K-K's Gardening Service for 30 years. Survivors include his wife, Theresa Garrett Kikuchi; four daughters, Debra K. Banquer, Rosanna K. Stieffel , Romono K. Arceneaux and Brenda K. Kikuchi; five brothers, Paul, Ernie, Arthur, Ben and Willie Kikuchi; and 11 grandchildren. A mass will be said Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. Visitation will be today from 7 to 10 p.m. and Wednesday at 9 a.m. Interment will be in Lake LawnPark Mausoleum.

Born January 1, 1939 in New Orleans, Mrs. Kikuchi was a life long resident of New Orleans. She was the widow of the late Kay J. Kikuchi; mother of Debra K. Banquer, Rosanna K. Stieffel , Ramona K. Arceneaux and Brenda A. Kikuchi; sister of Carl Garrett, Bobbie Kikuchi and Margaret Kikuchi; and grandmother of 11 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of the Funeral Liturgy on Monday, January 13, 2003, at 11:30 A.M., at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrian Blvd. (located in Metairie Cemetery). Mr. Paul I. Kikuchi, age 81 years, passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2007. Mr. Kikuchi was the son of the late John and Isako Kikuchi. Brother of Ben and William Kikuchi and the late Ernie, Kay and Arthur Kikuchi. Brother-in-law of Bobbie, Margaret and Sukie Kikuchi and the late Theresa Kikuchi. Devoted uncle of Sukie Chappuis, Debra Banquer, Edie Albernathy, Rosanna Stieffel, Nikki Ventura, Christine Abadie, Cliff Kikuchi, Michael Kikuchi, Anna Kikuchi, Ramona Arceneaux and Brenda Kikuchi. Mr. Kikuchi is also survived by several great nieces and nephews.

Mr. Kikuchi was a resident of Gretna and former parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. He was the loving husband of Bobbie Kikuchi and caring father of Sukie K. and Michael Chappuis, Edie K. and David Abernathy, Christine K. and Donald Abadie and Michael A. Kikuchi. He will be greatly missed by grandchildren: Chris and Jonathan Chappuis; Megan and Connor Abernathy; Rebecca, Rachel, Brennan and Blake Abadie; and Emily, Michael and Matthew Kikuchi. He also was the caring uncle of double-first nieces and nephew: Debbie Banquer, Rosanna Stieffel , Nikki Ventura, Anna Kikuchi, Ramona Arceneaux, Brenda Kikuchi and Cliff Kikuchi. He is survived by brothers: Paul, Ben, and William Kikuchi, sister-in-law, Margaret Kikuchi, numerous other relatives and a host of friends. Mr. Kikuchi will now be joined in spirit with his brothers and sisters-in-law, Ernie and Sukie Kikuchi and Kay and Theresa Kikuchi.
