A wedding of interest this week was that of Miss Beatrice Griffin and Mr. Roy Jenkins, both of this city, which took place in Amite, Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock. The bride was given in marriage by her mother. Mrs. P. V. Mallette, and was becomingly gowned in bride's pink fiat crepe with accessories to match. After the
ceremony, the young couple returned to Ponchatoula where a reception was held, a few intimate friends and relatives attending. In cutting the cake, Miss Hester Griffin, sister of the bride, cut the dime. Miss Ima Jenkins,
sister of the groom, the ring, and Miss Theo Rainey, the thimble. Following the reception. Mr. and Mrs. Jenkins left for a short honeymoon in Baton Rouge, after which they will be at home to their many friends at the home of the bride's parents.

Funeral Services for Ellis Jenkins Held December 15
Funeral services for Ellis Roy Jenkins, 45, who died Saturday, December 13, in Springfield, were
held from the Ponchatoula Baptist church the next Monday with interment following in the Ponchatoula cemetery, it was learned this week.
Religious rites were conducted by the Rev. Bob Wilson and the Rev. C. Hebert, New Orleans, with services by the Oddfellow lodge of Springfield at Thomas Funeral Home.
Prior to his death, Jenkins had been in a hospital with a heart ailment for two months. A former employee of the Pitcher Lumber Company of Springfield, he was a member of the Ponchatoula Baptist church.
Survivors include his wife, the former Miss Beatrice Griffon, who is a parish library bookmobile operator; a daughter, Shirley M., a son, Aubrey C., his father, E. M. Jenkins, Springfield, a sister, Mrs. I. Mercier, Hammond, four brothers, Hoy and Max, Ponchatoula, and Ory and Henry Lee, New Orleans.
Pall Bearers were his father, E. M. Jenkins; brother Hoy, Ory and Henry Lee; Henry Mixon and Darryl Ozment.
