STRONG, MRS. CARRIE JACKSON
Died 8 a.m. Friday, May 6, 1994, at St. Helena Parish Hospital. She was 91, a native of St. Helena Parish and a resident of Roseland. Visiting at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday, and 8 a.m. until religious services at 11 a.m. Monday, conducted by the Rev. Philip Weaver and the Rev. Pat Bourg. Burial in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Tangipahoa.
Survived by two sons, Eugene Strong and John Strong, both of Amite; two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Marquette, Roseland, and Mrs. Carrie "Myrtle"DesPlas, Metairie; two brothers, John Jackson and Eddie Jackson, both of Greensburg; a sister, Mrs. Barbara Buttry, Denham Springs; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband, James Nelson Strong; a daughter, Mrs. Laura S. Durnin; four sisters; a brother; two grandsons; and a great-grandson.
