Among interesting weddings of the late spring was that of Miss Monita Marie Imbert, daughter of Mrs. Rosina D'Antoni of this city, and Dr. George G. Imbert of Paris France, to Dr. William Henry Syll, son of Mr. and Mrs. F. O. Syll of Superior, Ariz. The ceremony took place at 4 o'clock in the afternoon at "Riverbend," the home of the bride's uncle, Mr. Blaise D'Antoni, and Mrs. D'Antoni, on the Mississippi river just below New Orleans. The Rev. Father Joseph Pyzikiewicz performed the ceremony in the drawing room of the home which was beautifully decorated with clusters of white flowers.
The bride, given in marriage by her grandfather, Mr. Salvador D'Antoni, wore a gown of white marquisette fashioned with a tight fitting bodice having an off-the-shoulder neckline, bishop sleeves and a yoke of marquisette. The bouffant skirt fell into a long train. She wore her mother's wedding veil of illusion which was held by a coronet of similar material and she carried a mother-of-pearl prayer book on top of which were white orchids and from which fell a cascade of lillies of the valley.
The maid of honor to the bride was her cousin Miss Claire Louise Lally and the maid of honor was Miss Mary Elizabeth Skelly. They wore dresses of ice-blue marquisette with drop shoulder necklines and bouffant skirts and they carried baskets filled with white daisies.
Dr. Syll had as his best man Dr. Davis Haughton and Dr. Leslie McLoed as groomsman.
The reception which immediately followed the ceremony was held in the glass-enclosed poolhouse, which was decorated with calla lillies, Easter lillies and potted palms. Smilax was entwined on the railing surrounding the edge of the pool, and magnolia blossoms floated in the pool.
Receiving with Mrs. D'Antoni, mother of the bride, who was in a gown of aquamarine with which she wore a corsage bouquet of orchids, were Mrs. Salvador 'Antoni, who was in a gray crepe dress; Miss Helen D'Antoni, aunt of the bride, who was in a pink silk print and Mrs. Blaise D'Antoni who chose for the event a gown of lime-colored crepe. All wore corsage bouquets of orchids.
After a short trip to the Gulf coast, the young couple will go to Arizona to visit the bridegroom's parents.
The bride's going away costume was a light-weight wool suit worn with navy accessories and a corsage bouquet of white orchids.
