Dora Albirdie "Birdie" Hodges Richardson was born March 10, 1920, in Holden, Louisiana. Mrs. Richardson, age 93, passed away at her home in Springfield surrounded by her loving family. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at the Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home in Hammond. Visitation will resume at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 15 with the funeral services beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Paul Taylor, officiating. Burial will follow in the Phillip Richardson Family Cemetery in Springfield, Louisiana. She will always be remembered for her love of God, her family and friends. She loved growing roses, fishing, camping, gardening and all God's creatures, especially birds. Survivors include her children: Ralph Murphy Richardson, Sr. and wife Bobbie, Isaac "Ike" Richardson and wife Brenda, Edmond Richardson and wife Elizabeth, John Paul Richardson and wife Gloria, Jennie Pearson and husband Larry, Ronald "Ronnie" Richardson, Sr. and wife Vicki, Eva Gayle Lott and husband Jimmy, Virginia Ann "VA" Bourn and husband Bobby, Luella Resetar and husband Donald, Jessie Roberts and husband Raymond , and Phillip Kemp Richardson and special friend Susan McKneely. She was preceded in death by her parents Maxwell Hodges and Eva Hutchinson Hodges, her husband of 50 years, Phillip S. Richardson, three children: Carl Bray Richardson, Phillip Maxwell Richardson, and Gladys Irene Richardson, one grand-daughter, June Richardson, and one great-great grandson, Jacob Pearson, two brothers: Carl Hodges, Norman Hodges, two sisters: Lois Achord and Eunice Roberts. Mrs. Richardson had 33 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. She was loved by all who knew her.
