Evans, J.W. Mrs. - aged 78 years, 7 months and 10 days, wife of J. Wesley Evans died at her home at Galvez, on Tuesday, June 23rd at 10:40 a.m. after a long illness. Deceased was well known and a highly esteemed citizen in the little community in which she lived. She was a kind mother and was always willing to offer a helping hand to those in need. She is survived by her husband J.W. Evans of Gonzales and seven children. M.P. Evans, Mrs. G.F. Delaune of Baton Rouge, Mrs. Mamie Jones of Texas, Mrs. W.W. Hodgeson of Gonzales, Mrs. M. Brawley of Baton Rouge and Mrs. Ed. Broussard of Geismar. Interment was in the Mt. Zion cemetery on Wensday, June 24th at 3:00 p.m. A large crowd of relatives and friends were present.
