Obituary Notice
Charles C. Herron, 78, passed away Friday, Oct. 26, 2012. Service: A private graveside service for the family will be held at a later date. Charles was born April 2, 1934, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Charles W. Herron and Joy Sellers Herron and was raised in Fort Worth. Flying was his driving force. He served in the U.S. Air Force and Reserves from 1955-1963, then flew for Southern Airways. He worked for Bell Helicopter from 1966-1990 as an experimental test pilot and helicopter accident investigator. He loved the outdoors. After retirement, he spent summers in the mountains of Colorado where he built a cabin with his wife, Junie. He enjoyed cooking, day trips and telling tall tales. Charles was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Stephen. Survivors: Wife, Wanda "Junie" Herron; sons, Charles C. Herron Jr. and Jeffrey W. Herron and wife, Amy; grandchildren, Danielle, Trey, Drew, Will and Abby.
