Bankston , Eunice Etta Herrington
Ms. Eunice was owner and operator of Jack's Café in Albany for forty five years. She and her late husband, Walter E. "Jack" Bankston established the "hometown" café' in 1950. At the honorable age of 90, Ms. Eunice passed away Thursday, February 21, 2008.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Raymond and Sarah Faust Bankston of Albany; grandchildren, Lee Ann Bankston, Albany, Eric D. Bankston, Dallas, Texas, Chris and his wife, Sheila Hoyt Bankston, Albany, Kimberly and her husband, Thomas Allen Stewart, Albany. She was blessed with three great grandchildren, Kacie Stewart, Taylor Bankston and Trenton Stewart. She has one surviving brother, Douglas Baham

Along with her late husband, Jack, Ms. Eunice is preceded in death by her mother, Zera Baham; son, Jack Bankston and his wife Rose Mary Bankston; granddaughter, Jacquelyn Bankston; brothers, Oved, Eugene and Alvin Baham; sisters, Maude McDonald, Vera Ledet, Betty Lou Hunter, Loretta George and Joyce Baham.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services from the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home, Hwy 190, west of Hammond, Saturday, February 23rd at 3:00 p.m. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home chapel Friday night from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Visitation will resume on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. until the funeral time. Rev. Tommy Hicks will conduct the funeral services assisted by Rev. Wilmer Goodwin. Interment will be in Bankston Cemetery, north of Albany.

Died 11:20 a.m. Friday, June 5, 1992, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. She was 69, a native of Livingston Parish and a resident of Baton Rouge. Visiting at Welsh Funeral Home, 6700 Florida Blvd., 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday, and 9 a.m. until religious services at 1 p.m. Monday, conducted by Dr. Kelly Fitzgerald. Burial in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Survived by husband, Cleveland J. Ledet; a son and daughter-in-law, Jerry L. and Dianne Stilley; two sisters, Eunice Bankston and Maudie McDonald;two brothers, Alvin Baham and Douglas Baham; and a granddaughter, Lisa Michelle Stilley. Preceded in death by parents, John J. and Zera Herrington Baham; three sisters, Loretta George, Betty Noble and Joyce Kendrick; and two brothers, Ovede Baham and Eugene Baham. Pallbearers will be Raymond Bankston , Gerald Glyn Watts, Robert Ladner, Frank A. Ledet Jr., David L. Colvin and Barry Smith. Remaining nephews will serve as honorary pallbearers. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church.
