HERRING , ELMER PIERCE

Died 5:35 p.m. Sunday, July 20, 1986, at Lane Memorial Hospital, Zachary. He was 64, a native of Independence and resident of Baker. He was a Monterey Pipeline Co. employee and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Visiting at Charlet Funeral Home, Zachary, after 9 a.m. until religious services at 10 a.m. Tuesday, conducted by the Rev. John Sewell. Burial in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Baker.

Survived by wife, Doris Bankston Herring , Baker; two daughters, Mrs. Gerald (Brenda Gail) Starks, Baton Rouge, and Mrs. Clyde (Deborah Louise) Ming, Castleberry, Fla.; four sisters, Mrs. Ted (Grace) Albin and Mrs. Joe (Mary Nell) Adams, both of Livingston, Mrs. Harold (Carrie) Parker and Mrs. Don (Maxine) Imhoff, both of Baton Rouge; two brothers, Donald and Orin Herring , both of Independence; and five grandchildren.

Preceded in death by parents, Mr. and Mrs. C.E. "Sam" Herring . Pallbearers will be Jimmy Thomason, Gary and Cary Hoover, Teddey Albin, Gordon Jackson, and Marcel Herrring.

He was a memberof First United Methodist Church, Baker, Northeast Lodge No. 435, F&AM, Baton Rouge. Memorial donations may be made to Guardian Angels School Endowment Fund, 3300 Hundred Oaks Ave., Baton Rouge, 70808.
