BANKSTON , FLOYD THOMAS
Died Thursday, June 11, 1992, at Seventh Ward General Hospital, Hammond. He was 74, a resident and native of Independence. He was a dairy farmer and forester and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Visiting at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, 8 a.m. until religious services at the chapel at 11 a.m. Saturday, conducted by the Rev. Sidney McMorris. Burial in Bankston Cemetery, Albany. Survived by wife, Estelle Williams Bankston , Independence; a daughter, Mrs. Raymond (Betty Carol) Carr, Hammond; a son, Pat Bankston , Independence; two sisters, Bernice Stewart, Hammond, and Almeda Cutrer, Amite; three grandsons, Aaron Carr, Hammond, Austin Bankston , Independence, and Taylor Bankston , Baton Rouge; a granddaughter, Amanda Carr, Hammond; three nephews, Clyde and Carl Johnson, both of Denham Springs, and Johnnie Johnson, Independence; and a niece, Marlie Cutrer, Baton Rouge. Preceded in death by parents, Pat and Lula Whiddon Bankston ; a sister, Hattie Johnson; an infant daughter, and an infant granddaughter. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, Society of American Foresters, Louisiana Forestry Association and American Legion Post No. 109, Independence.
