Mr. and Mrs. Clayton B. Hayes, of' Ludlow Street, are announcing the engagement of their daughter, Patricia Louise, to Elwood P. Houston, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul B. Houston, of Main Street. No date has been set for the ceremony.
Miss Hayes, who attended Western College for Women, Oxford, Ohio, for two years, now is employed at Schenley Distilleries, Inc. here. She is a member of Tau Chapter, Phi Beta Psi Sorority. Her fiance is attending the Cincinnati College of Pharmacy and will be graduated in June.

Houston-Hayes Wedding Read In Cincinnati
A pretty, late spring wedding took place at four o'clock in the North Fairmount Presbyterian Church, Cincinnati, Friday afternoon June 10, when Miss Patricia Louise Hayes, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clayton B. Hayes of Ludlow street, became the bride of Mr. Elwood Paul Houston, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul B. Houston, also of Lawrenceburg.
The double-ring ceremony was read by Rev. C. S. Williams, pastor, in the presence only of the immediate families. Robert C. Hayes, brother of the bride,
sang "Through The Years," accompanied by the organist, preceding the exchange of vows.
The matron of honor and sister of the bridegroom, Mrs. F. Gould Warneford of Lawrenceburg, wore a suit of pink gabardine with dascha hued accessories and Panama hat. She carried a colonial bouquet of yellow roses.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride was attired in a smartly styled turquoise shantung suit. Completing her costume were natural linen accessories with matching hat trimmed with dascha veiling. She carried a colonial bouquet
of white rosebuds and her only jewelry was a wristwatch, a gift of the bridegroom.
Mr. William. B. Houston of Lawrenceburg, was his brother's best man. The men wore gray suits with carnation boutonnieres.
Mrs. Hayes wore for her daughter's wedding, a printed dress with black accessories and a corsage of pink roses. Mrs. Houston's printed dress was accented with a white rosebud corsage.
The wedding dinner was served afterward at the Alms Hotel, Cincinnati. Following a short wedding trip in southern Indiana, Mr. and Mrs. Houston are
residing temporarily with their parents.
The bride who was graduated from LCHS in 1945, attended Western College for Women at Oxford, 0., for two years, and is employed in the office of Schenley. She is a member of the Phi Beta Psi sorority. The bridegroom, a LCHS graduate of 1941, served in the Navy for over three years during which
time his V-12 training was held at Union College, Schenectady, N. Y., Princeton University and Northwestern University at Evanston, Ill.
The wedding ceremony took place before Mr. Houston's graduation from the College of Pharmacy of Cincinnati, on the U. C. Campus.

ELWOOD HOUSTON, PATTY LOU HAYES VOWS IN CINCINNATI
A wedding of interest throughout the community was solemnized Friday at 4 p. m. in the North Fairmount Presbyterian Church, Cincinnati, when Elwood Paul Houston, of Lawrenceburg, took as his bride Miss Patricia Louise Hayes, also of this city. The bride is the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clayton B. Hayes, of Ludlow Street, and Mr. Houston is the elder son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul B. Houston, of Main Street.
The Rev. C. S. Williams, pastor of the church, officiated at the exchange of double ring vows, which was witnessed by the immediate families. The bride's brother, Robert C. Hayes, sang "Through the Years" preceding the service, with
Miss Ruoff at the organ console. Bouquets of white flowers decorated the altar.
Wears Summer Suit
Entering the sanctuary with her father, who gave her in marriage, the bride was charming in a summer suit of turquoise shantung. Natural linen accesories enhanced the ensemble. and her only jewelry was the bridegroom's gift, a lovely wristwatch. Lace and white ribbon streamers held her colonial bouquet
of white roses.
Her only attendant was the bridegroom's sister, Mrs. F. Gould Warneford (Jane Houston), whose wedding was a social event of last summer. She appeared in a pink gabardine suit and toast brown accessories and carried a colonial arrangement of yellow roses.
The bridegroom and his brother, William Houston, who served as best man, wore white carnations in the lapels of their light gray business suits.
Both Mrs. Hayes and Mrs. Houston selected printed summer dresses and black accessories, and their shoulder corsages were of pink and white rosebuds, respectively.
. Attend Commencement
The wedding party and guests enjoyed a dinner in the Hotel Aims and then went on to Wilson Memorial Auditorium on the University of Cincinnati campus, where commencement exercises of the Cincinnati College of Pharmacy were held that evening. The bridegroom received a bachelor of science degree in pharmacy from the school. He is a 1941 graduate of LCHS and was in the U. S. Navy for three and one-half years during World War Ii. During that time he received V-12 training at Union College Schenectady, N. Y.; Princeton University, and Northwestern University and served aboard a carrier.
The bride was graduated from LCHS in 1945 and attended Western College for Women, Oxford, Ohio, for two years. She is a member of Tau Chapter, Phi Beta Psi Sorority, and has been employed in the payroll department of the local Schenley plant for the past year.
The couple returned early this week from a post-wedding tour of Southern Indiana.

Patricia "Patty" Houston
Patricia "Patty" Houston, 93, of Cincinnati, Ohio, formerly of Madison, Indiana and Lawrencebung. Indiana, passed away on Thursday. Oct. 8, 2020. She was born April 30, 1927, in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, daughter of the late Clayton and Victoria (Dixon) Hayes.
Patty was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star-Lawrenceburg Chapter and St Paul Methodist Church. She liked to sew, knit, and make crafts. She played piano and loved being mom, grandma. and great grandma. Family was everything to her.
She is survived by her two sons, Steve Houston of lndianapolis, Indiana and Robert (wife Patty) Houston of Cincinnati, Ohio: daughter, Debra (husband Steve) Applebaum of Cincinnati, Ohio: three grandchildren, Ellen Houston. Laura (husband Jake) Shifman, Paige (husband Paul) Bayens; and her great grandson, Max Houston Shifman.
She was preceded in death by her father, Clayton B Hayes; mother, Victoria Louise Hayes; husband, Elwood Houston; and one brother, Bob Hayes.
Family and friends will be received on Tuesday. Oct. 13, 2020. from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. at Fitch-Denney Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at Fitch-Denney Funeral Home, Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2020. at 1 p.m.
Interment will follow in the Greendale Cemetery, Greendale, Indiana.
