BANKSTON , CLABORN ERLO "PETE"

Born Sept. 18, 1919, in Albany, he passed away Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2004, at his home in Holden at the age of 84. He was a loving husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, father-in-law, stepfather-in-law, brother and friend. He was a member of Magnolia Baptist Church in Holden. Pete was retired from Plumbers & Steamfitters Local Union 198, a former real estate and insurance broker, Notary Public, former Justice of the Peace and a member of the Livingston Parish Cattlemen's Association. He was a proud member of the United States Army Air Force in World War II and was stationed in England for about 31/2 years.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Mills Clement Bankston ; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Larry E. and Dianne Bankston of Denham Springs, Carson C. and Laura Bankston of Prairieville and Barry M. Bankston of St. Gabriel; a stepson, Doug Clement of Denham Springs; a stepdaughter and stepson-in-law, Cathy Clement and Roy Smith of League City, Texas; a sister, Alice Dean Sullivan of Holden; and a granddaughter, Brandy Lin Bankston of Atlanta.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lillie and Charlie Bankston ; two brothers, Harrison and Benton Bankston ; and a sister, Georgia B. Rutland.

Visitation at Geisler Funeral Home, Albany, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, 2004, and 8:30 a.m. until funeral service in the chapel at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 20, 2004. His church pastor, the Rev. Richard Wallace, will conduct the service. Interment in Bankston Cemetery, north of Albany. Hearfelt gratitude to the many friends and relatives he loved and who loved him and additional thanks to St. Joseph Hospice of Baton Rouge for their care and support.
