All deaths are sad. All leave bleeding hearts. But when a noble consecrated man always alert and untiring working to promote every good interest of his church, his school, his community and the great government under which he was born, educated and developed into a good and useful citizen, not only the loved ones are crushed but the entire community suffers a severe loss. Such was the case when Morris Seward Hayes died at his home in Sulphur last Sunday.
Mr. Hayes was born April 29, 1881, near Lawrence. Kansas, and died September 18, 1921. He became deaf at the age of 13, and soon after entered the Kansas School for the Deaf, graduating in 1899. In 1908 he became a teacher for the Deaf here, and held that position until his death. In 1910 he married Miss Edith Brummitt of Topeka, Kansas. He is survived by his wife, father and daughter, Francis Josephine.
