Hayes-Brower Wedding at Clemmons
A beautiful wedding was celebrated yesterday morning in the Moravian church at Clemmons, when Miss May Brower, daughter of Mr James F. Brower, was united in marriage to Mr. Lawrence J, Hayes of Roanoke, Va.
The church was beautifully decorated with palms and ferns. In a chancel surrounded with while pedestals topped with white candles, Bishop Rondthaler, who performed the ceremony, took his place.
The wedding party entered to the beautiful tones of the bridal chorus from Lohengrin, played by Miss Louise Bahnson.
Following the ushers, Mr. Clinton Wharton and, Mr. George Bauer, the beautiful little sister of the bride, Miss Annie Louise Bower, maid of honor, entered.' She was daintily gowned in a lovely white batiste frock, and carried pink bridemaid's roses, tied with broad pink satin bows.
The bridegroom, Mr. Hayes, entered with his best man, Mr. Charles Sharpe, of Burlington.
The bride entered from the main door. She was beautifully attired in a blue tailored suit with small traveling hat of blue. The bridal bouquet was a shower of bride's roses, plumosus and white sweet peas.
Miss Bahnson played softly Shubert's serenade during the impressive ring ceremony performed by Bishop Rondthaler.
After the ceremony Mr. and Mrs. 'Hayes drove to Winston-Salem, whence they left on the 11:35 train for their bridal journey.
Many beautiful gifts were received by this popular young couple.
