Rev. Everett Hayes, Baptist pastor
Services for the Rev. Everett W. Hayes, 81, Indianapolis, a Baptist pastor of Indiana churches for more than half a century, will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Singleton & Herr Madison Avenue Mortuary. Calling will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday.
He died Friday.
Rev. Hayes had been the pastor for First Baptist Church, Hope, 13 years, retiring in 1975.
After retiring, however, he continued to pastor full time at various churches. From 1985 to 1990, he was pastor at Brookfield Baptist Church in Shelby County.
He was licensed by the American Baptist Churches of lndiana in 1940 and began his ministry as associate pastor at Southport Baptist Church.
After his ordination in 1953, he was pastor at Wheatfield (Ind.) Baptist Church seven years.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
