Popular Couple Wed at Piper City
Piper City, Ill., Feb. 9,-\'97St. Peter Catholic church was the scene of a pretty wedding Saturday morning at 7:30 o'clock when Miss Ruby Christian became the bride of Charles Hays. About 40 of the immediate relatives and friends were present.
To the strains of Lohengrin's wedding march, played by Mrs. Pete Kelly. the bride and groom entered, attended by Miss Margaret Bouhl, cousin of the groom, and Glen Christian. brother of the bride. The bride was attired in a dress of peacock blue crepe with accessories to match. Miss Bouhl wore a dress of royal blue crepe.
The altar was beautifully decorated with pink rose buds and white carnations. The choir consisted of four cousins-Mrs. Raymond Stadler, Mrs. Harold Wilson and Frank Bouhl and Mrs. Paul Kemnitz. of Strawn. At the offertory, Mrs. Stadler sang "Ave Marie."
Immediately after the wedding, breakfast was served at the Christian home. The bride and groom then departed for Chicago for a short honeymoon, returning home Sunday evening. They will make their home here.
Mrs. Hayes is the oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Christian and is a charming young woman who has successfully taught the Berger school on route 8 for the past two years. Mr. Hayes is the oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Arch Hayes, an industrious young man and engaged in electrical work.
A host of friends extend congratulations.
