David Eugene Hayes, son of Roger and Teresa Newton Hayes, was born January 6, 1958 in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He received his education in the Webster City Community Schools, graduating in 1977. Following his service in the U.S. Air Force from 1978 to 1982, he attended A.I.B. in Des Moines, where he earned his business degree. On December 15, 1984, he and Sonja Heather Anderson, his high school sweetheart, were united in marriage at Trinity Lutheran Church in Webster City. Dave and Sonja began their married life in Des Moines where he worked for Northwest bank. They were blessed with their two children, Alison and Andrew. After moving back to Webster City in 1992 David worked for Dean Carden Farms and Broshar Implement in Woolstock. He was currently employed by Casady Brothers in Webster City. Dave was a man of Christian faith and a member of Washington Lutheran Church in Duncombe.

Dave's world revolved around his family and friends. He lived life like he rode his Harley, full speed ahead. He enjoyed long trips on the bike with his wife, Sonja, hanging out with his kids, and shooting pool with his friends. Some of the best memories with Dave include camping, wrestling, family vacations, and trips to Sturgis. He had a love for farming and was passionate about his work. Dave will be remembered best as a strong, dependable man who gave comfort and compassion to those around him. His tenderness, sense of humor, and the love he provided will give us many comforting memories in the years to come.
