The engagement of Miss Gawthrop to Lieutenant Wallace Ellsworth Niles, U. S. A., of Sheridan, 0re., was announced by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred H. Gawthrop, at a bridge luncheon given today in their home, 2211 Shallcross avenue. Miss Gawthrop is a graduate of Swarthmore College, class of 1922, and for the past two years has been traveling around the world, returning last December. Lieutenant Niles is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde E. Niles of Sheridan, and was graduated from the University of Oregon in 1921. He is now stationed at the tank school in Camp Meade, Miss Gawthrop met her fiance while on her trip to the foreign countries. No date is set for the wedding.

Miss Helen Gawthrop has selected Saturday, June 25, as the date for her
wedding to Lieutenant Wallace Ellsworth Niles, U. S. A.. of Fort Sheridan, Ore. The ceremony will be performed at 7, by Rev. Richard W. Trapnell, rector of St. Andrew's P. E. Church, in the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred H. Gawthrop, 2211 Shalicross avenue.
Miss Rachel H. Gawthrop will be her sister's maid of honor and the bridesmaids will be Miss Mary M. Miller of this city and Miss Marion Satterthwaite of Trenton. N. J. The best man will be Lieutenant C. D. Collins
and the ushers, Lieutenant R. B. McClure and Lieutenant H. B. Hoyt, all of Camp Meade. The bride will be given in marriage by her father.
A reception will be held immediately after the service for the wedding party and guests, a number or whom will attend from other cities, after which Lieutenant Niles and his bride will leave on a wedding trip. They will be at home after July 15, at Fort Benning. Ga., where the bridegroom will be stationed.
Several parties have been given for the bride-elect, including a shower and bridge party given last week by Miss Marian D. Bradford.

Miss Miller will be one of the bridesmaids in the wedding party of Miss.
Hlen Gawthorp, whose marriage to Lieutenant Wallace Ellsworth Niles, U. S. A. will take place on Saturday at 7 o'clock at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred H. Gawthrop.
The attendant, who is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert S. Miller of this city, is a talented young artist, having exhibited wood blocks and oil paintings at the Spring Salon in New York, as well as having her works shown here and in Philadelphia.

Dr., died yesterday at MacDill Air Force Base. She came here in 1951. Survivors include her
husband, Col. Wallace E. Niles, U.S. Army retired; a son, Frederic C. Niles, Malibu, Calif.; a
daughter, Mrs. Robert T. Colyer, Bellevue, Wash; three grandchildren; her mother, Mrs. Frederic H. Gawthrop, and a sister. Mrs. F. F. Wildebush, both of Swarthmore, Pa.

MRS. HELEN GAWTHROP NILES, 60, 2120 Harbor View Dr., Dunedin. died Thursday (Aug. 4, 1960) in a Tampa hospital.
Mrs. Niles, moved to Dunedin in 1951 from Wilmington, Del.
She is survived by her husband, Col. Wallace E., U.S. Army retired; a daughter, Mrs. Robert
T. Colyer, Bellevue, Wash: a son, Frederic C., Malibu, Calif.; her mother, Mrs. Frederic H. Gawthrop, Swarthmore, Pa.; sister, Mrs. F. F. Wildebush, Swarthmore, Pa, and 3 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be private, with the burial in Wilmington, Del.
