Mr. Joseph Halverstadt, a white married male, was born June 28, 1871, and died on February 11, 1937, at the age of 65 years 7 months. His widow was Mrs. Carrie M. Halverstadt of 310 5th St. His parents were Anthony Halverstadt and Leah Miller, both born in Dearborn, Indiana. Joseph was a retired real estate dealer and last worked 2 years before he died. Joseph died in Christ Hospital under the care of C. A. Langdale, M.D. The principal cause of death was chronic myocarditis, myocardial degeneral, generalized arteriosclerosis. Contributory causes were common duct stone and ventral hernia. He underwent an operation called choledociolithony on 2/11/1937 which confirmed ventral hemioplasty. There was no autopsy. He will be buried in Greendale cemetery under the care of funeral director Stier Williams of Aurora, Indiana.
