   Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bir, 220 South Sixth street, announce the marriage of their daughter, Winifred, to Jack Guard, of East Chicago, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Guard, of Monticello, which took place July 28, 1941, at Delphi. Attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Newell Timmons, of Monticello. 
   Mrs. Guard attended Indiana university and is a member of Alpha Omicron Pi sorority, Newman club and Education club. For the past two years she has been teaching in the Earl Park schools. Mr. Guard attended Purdue and Indiana universities and is a member of Theta Chi fraternity. He is employed in the accounting department of the Youngstown steel mill in Indiana Harbor.

RAYMOND GUARD
Raymond "Jack" Guard, 59, a former Lafayette resident, died Saturday morning in his home at Sierra Madre, Calif., apparently of a heart attack.
Mr. Guard, a 35-year employe of Alcoa, was born at Romney. He was transferred to California several years ago. ln 1941 he was married to Winifred Bir, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Grady L. Guard; and two daughters, Patricia J. Guard and Mrs. Sharon Fletcher, all of Lafayette; one brother, Orville Guard of Indianapolis; and four sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Ricketts and Mrs. Newell Timmons, both of Monticello, Mrs. Lou Yoder of Flora and Mrs. Louise Knox of Elkhart.
