MONTICELLO - Mary Evelyn (Guard) Metcalf Ricketts, 70, died Saturday, Oct. 29, 1994, in her Monticello home. She was born May 17, 1927, at Chalmers. She was first married to Howard Metcalf in 1941, at Chalmers, he died in December 1970. She then married Andrew Ricketts on Feb. 12, 1972; he died April 23, 1982.
Mrs. Ricketts, a former resident of Lafayette, moved to Monticello 22 years ago. She and her late husband, Andrew Ricketts, owned and operated Ricketts Liquor Store in Monticello. She was a member of the Chalmers Order of Eastern Star, and the AMVET and VFW auxiliaries, both in Monticello.
Surviving are a son, Kenneth E. Metcalf of Monticello; a daughter, Sandra L. Albregts of Pendleton; a brother, Orville Guard; two sisters, Virginia Timmons of Monticello and Lu Yoder of Kokomo; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Fredrick Metcalf.
