DANIEL GUARD DIES TODAY
Well Known Resident of Near City Passes Away
Daniel Major Guard, 66 years old, residing southwest of Monticello, and well k nown resident of the community, passed away this morning at 4:10 o'clock at the St. Elizabeth hospital at Lafayette after a two months illness.
Mr. Guard was born October 21, 1876, at Linden, Indiana, and was maried to Betty Ann Blair on January 10, 1916.
The Survivors
Eight children survive: Mrs. Louise Knox, Raymond Guard, Mrs. Newell Timmons, Mrs. Howard Metcalf, all of Lafayette; Forrest Guard, Linden; Orville, Edna, Ruth and Lulu Mae, at home; also three sisters, May Guard, Indianapolis; Clara and Ade Guard of Linden; also two brothers, Almon of Chicago and Lee of Marion; and ten grandchildren.
Friends may cal after 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon. The funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock from the Chalmers Community Church, the Rev. B. F. Richer of Thorntown, formerly of Chalmers, officiating. Burial will be made in the Linden cemetery.
