Henry W. Forsythe, 90, of 830-E Menno Village at Menno Haven retirement complex, died at 5:25 a.m. Sunday, March 12, 2000, in Chambersburg Hospital. In failing health since July, he was critically
ill since March 3.
Born June 6, 1909, in Newtown Square, Delaware County, he was a son of the late Henry and Anna
Hutton Forsythe.
Before retiring, most of his life was lived in Newtown Square. Afterward, he resided for a short time in Albuquerque, NM, before moving to Menno Haven.
A lifelong member of Springfield (Pa.) Friends Meeting, he was a 1926 graduate of the high school in Barnesville, Ohio. He attended Drexel Institute of Technology, Philadelphia, where he trained in drafting and mechanical engineering.
Mr. Forsythe was a mechanical engineer for Boeing-Vertol in Morton, retiring in 1972.
He and his first wife, Dorothy Brown Forsythe, were married on April 23, 1932. She died Oct. 22, 1981.
He and his second wife, Katherine Lampkin Forsythe, were married in 1982 in Albuquerque. She
died Nov. 9, 1999.
His hobbies included photography, reading, woodworking, lapidary, gardening, the Old West and traveling \emdash having visited all 50 states. He was a volunteer at Menno Haven since his arrival there in
1989.
Surviving are two daughters, Elsie Kinter of Spring Hill, Fla, and Irene Antone of Still Pond, Md.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Two sisters and a brother also preceded him in death.
Memorial service will be on March 25. Time and place will be announced later. Private burial will
be in Oaklands Cemetery, West Chester.
Arrangements are by Cumberland Valley Crematorium, Waynesboro.
