A resident of Hammond, she died Thursday, Oct. 7, 1999, at Hammond Nursing Home. She was 96 and a native of Uneedus. Visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home chapel, Hammond, 8:30 a.m. until religious services at 10 a.m. Saturday. Burial in Ponchatoula Cemetery. Survived by two sisters, Annie Griffin and Beatrice Lilly, both of Hammond. Preceded in death by husband, William Thomas Allen; parents, William Charles and Mary Lott Griffin; two sisters, Ruby Mixon and Rachel Griffin; and two brothers, William and Otis Griffin. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
