Lilly, Beatrice Griffin Jenkins A native of Abita Springs, she died Monday, May 30, 2005, at her home in Hammond. Visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Visitation at the funeral home on Thursday from 8 a.m. until religious service at 10 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Lonnie Wascom. Interment in Ponchatoula Cemetery. She is survived by a son, Aubrey C. Jenkins of Albany; five grandchildren, Craig Stonecypher, Douglas Roy Jenkins and David Stonecypher, all of Covington, Sharon Jenkins DeLoach of Baton Rouge, and Suzanne Jenkins Gill of Reno, Nev.; and 10 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ellis Roy Jenkins; second husband, Curtis H. Lilly; daughter, Shirley Jenkins Stonecypher; three sisters, Annie Griffin, Hester G. Allen and Ruby G. Mixon; two brothers, William and Otis Griffin; and parents, Charles and Mary Lott Griffin. She was a member of Fern Leaf Chapter 24 of Order of the Eastern Star in Hammond, and Immanuel Baptist Church.

A wedding of interest this week was that of Miss Beatrice Griffin and Mr. Roy Jenkins, both of this city, which took place in Amite, Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock. The bride was given in marriage by her mother. Mrs. P. V. Mallette, and was becomingly gowned in bride's pink fiat crepe with accessories to match. After the
ceremony, the young couple returned to Ponchatoula where a reception was held, a few intimate friends and relatives attending. In cutting the cake, Miss Hester Griffin, sister of the bride, cut the dime. Miss Ima Jenkins,
sister of the groom, the ring, and Miss Theo Rainey, the thimble. Following the reception. Mr. and Mrs. Jenkins left for a short honeymoon in Baton Rouge, after which they will be at home to their many friends at the home of the bride's parents.

Afternoon Rites Unite C. H. Lillys
HAMMOND -- In a 3 o'clock afternoon ceremony Saturday at the First Baptist Church Mrs. Beatrice C. Jenkins became the bride of Mr. Curtis Haise Lilly. The Rev. J. M. Oswalt served as officiant, while organist was Mrs. Raymond Cox and soloist was Mrs. Evelyn Starks.
Upon their return from Gatlinburg, the couple will reside in Hammond.
The bride was escorted to the altar by her son, Mr. Aubry C. Jenkins of Metairie. Matron of honor was Mrs. H. J. Stonecypher of Covington, daughter of the bride, and Mrs. Flora Davis of Pumpkin Center, bridesmaid.
Mr. James V. Lilly, son of the bridegroom, was best man, and groomsman was Mr. Warren Kinchen. Messrs. Steve Soutullo and Charles D. Stewart were ushers. Candlelighters were Craig Stonecypher of Covington, and Roy Jenkins of Metairie.
The Red Room of the Holiday Inn was the setting for the reception following the ceremony. Assisting in serving were Mmes. Charley R. Smith of Livingston, Aubrey C. Jenkins of Metairie, Kathryn V. Raborn of Hammond and Roy Jenkins of Ponchatoula.
