Advocate, The (Baton Rouge, LA) - October 22, 2007
Hague, Edna Gondron
Edna Gondron Hague left this world to return home to be with her Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, on Friday, Oct. 19, 2007. Mrs. Hague was born Sept. 23, 1911, in Loreauville. She was a resident of Baton Rouge, but she also lived for many years in Maurepas. She was a devout Christian, who taught Sunday school, led Bible study groups, and sang in the choir at First Christian Church, as long as she was able to do those things. She was a church camp counselor for young people, an accomplished seamstress, and a professional cosmetologist with a diploma from Marinella Beauty School in Port Arthur, Texas. She was a wonderful and creative cook, who loved cooking for her family, singing, and being with her loved ones. She was affectionately called "Mimi," and very much loved by her huge family and extended family. Visitation will be at Rabenhorst East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Monday, Oct. 22, from 4 to 7 p.m. Visitation at First Christian Church on Tuesday afternoon from 1 p.m. until religious services at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Michael Karunas officiating. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Also participating in her services will be Hospice Chaplain Dale DeLaune. Survivors include her children, Brenda Hague Haydel, Maurepas, Gladys Hague Runnels and her husband Dr. Kelly Runnels, Baton Rouge, and foster daughter, Anna Mae Rey and her husband George Rey; 11 grandchildren, Robbi Bradford and husband Kurt, Holli Cavin and husband Charles, Dr. Helen Connelly and husband Pete, Cindy Fuchs and husband Trip, Wendi Hairford and husband Derin, Bart Haydel and wife Beth, Kelli Kelley and husband Bill, Rebecca Morrison and husband Hall, Dr. James Runnels and wife Jessica, John Runnels and wife Karen, Dr. Alex Sandoval and husband Sal ; 16 great-grandchildren, Glynn and Tommy Cavin, Hannah and Cole Connelly, Jack Faulkner, Jasper and Sage Fuchs, Landon Hairford, Finnian Kelley, Celeste, Gabriella, Kadi and Sierra Runnels, Emily and Erik Runnels, and Jude Sandoval . Mrs. Hague was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, Jack Sanders Hague; her parents, Willis Gondron and Lutecia Broussard Gondron Judice; two brothers, Willis Gondron and George Gondron; two sisters, Marie Resweber and Eunice Rogers; and her son-in-law, Thomas Eugene Haydel. Her family would like to express their appreciation to her caregivers, Brenda Haydel, Robbi Bradford, Emma Clay, Velma Ingram, Carrie Russell, and Wanda Russell; to Dr. James Runnels and Dr. Jessica Stevens for their loving care; and to the "angels" from St. Joseph's Hospice, especially Dr. Susan Nelson, Stacey Stanley, Dale DeLaune, Ginny Barden, and Tanya Tillman. "Mimi" leaves us with many memories to cherish, and with the lessons by her example of how to live an unselfish Christian life. We are so blessed to have had her in our lives.
