"Jackie, after high school and some months at secretarial school, married a high school boyfriend, Charles Rock, with whom she had a son. The marriage was a disaster and soon ended, with Jackie and "Butch" (my nickname for her son which, unfortunately, stuck into adulthood) returning to the family home. Within a year or so she met and married Mike Sparrow, a hardworking entrepreneur, Stanford grad and all around great guy with whom she had Susan. After several successful business ventures in the Bay Area they became owners of a resort in the Sierra-Nevada mountains at Strawberry, CA, which they operated until Jackie's retirement. Mike, who I liked very much, died of cancer in his early 40's. Subsequently, Jackie married Paul Stetler, a local man, and they continued to operate the resort until it was sold and they retired to a beautiful home in Sonora, CA, about 30 miles from Strawberry. "
