GENEVAY - VACCARO
Miss Marion Margaret Vaccaro of Pass Christian and Dr. Noel Charles Genevay Jr., of New Orleans were united in marriage at eleven o'clock this morning at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Pass Christian. Rev. James Curley read the double ring marriage vows.
White floral sprays and smilax entwined the interior columns of the church. White chrysanthemums banked the altar, lighted by cathedral tapers in candelabra. Miss Madelen Rose at the harp, and Mrs. Lelia Courtney at the organ, rendered a program of nuptial music.
The bride entered on the arm of her father, Felix Vaccaro. Her gown of candle light satin was fashioned with a sweetheart neckline and long sleeves ending in points over the hands. The bodice and sleeves were appliqued with Belgian Princess lace and seed pearls. The full skirt fell to a cathedral train. The veil of matching lace was worn in Medona fashion. She carried an old fashioned bouquet of lilies of the valley.
Mrs. Herbert Courtney Hanson, New Orleans, sister of the bride, attended as matron of honor, and the bridesmaids were Miss Barbara Streckfus, New Orleans, and Miss. Patricia Hardin, New Orleans and formerly of Gulfport. Harold C. Lifsey, New Orleans, cousin of the groom, acted as best man. Groomsmen were Herbert Courtney Hanson, New Orleans, and Dr. Jessee M. McClendon, Amite, La. Ushers were Dr. Charles E. Lewis and Dr. Henry Syll, both of New Orleans.
Following the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride's parents where the newly married couple were assisted in receiving by Mrs. Vaccaro, Mrs. Genevay and the maternal grandmother, Mrs. Catherine Lombardo.
Dr. and Mrs. Genevay left for a wedding trip to Mexico City, Mrs. Genevay wearing a navy blue wool gabardine suit with matching accessories. They will be at home in New Orleans after December 1.
